Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles (VWCV) unveiled sales results after the first half of 2021. Due above all to the Multivan (here’s the report on the presentation of the T7 model, last June), Transporter and Crafter, which recorded growth percentages closer and sometimes higher than 50 percent, the first part of the year was featured by 87 million euro operating profit. Deliveries to customers rose to 205,000 vehicles and turnover climbed to 5.3 billion euro. In the first half of 2020, hugely affected by the pandemic, the turnover was only 1.1 billion euro.
«That was a real feat that we achieved together in the first half of the year», said Carsten Intra, Chairman of the VWCV Board of Management. «Despite the good result, the situation remains tough. The position in the supplier markets is still uncertain, the coronavirus pandemic is far from being beaten and we are seeing big differences in our sales regions globally. Nevertheless, the first six months have me feeling positive, including with regards to the full year of 2021».
